I LOVE these lights, they are so bright and useful.
This is no feeble little penlight!
On a trip to New Mexico a few Winters ago (January, 2001) we used 2 of these for most of our lighting while camping. I like the red Photon I with the "covert" option, while Ali prefers the white Photon II with switch. We have been using these daily since November, 2000, and they are just as bright as the day we first got them, that's long battery life. Update March, 2003. Had to replace the batteries in Ali's. She accidentally left it on, but she said it was starting to dim. Found some Sony CR2016 lithium coin cells online cheap and now her Photon is back, just as bright as ever.
Since the "lamps" are solid-state LEDs, they won't burn out from being dropped or by rough handling. I have been trying for many years to find a pocket sized light that was bright enough to be useful and had a battery life long enough to to be reliable.
These are the lights I've been looking for !

I have had to replace batteries about once a year or so. I get them online for less than $1.- a battery, shipped.

Still use my keychain lights almost everyday.
There are lots of squeeze / keychain LED lights out there, these are high quality and guaranteed.
